Every Breath I Take

He has been away on a trip. And she can't wait to see him again:

The dearest present for me
Would be the dust off your shirt
Seeing and smelling you again
Would be my re-birth.
My wanting you
Is not just from whim or desire.
You are my re-birth,
I want you for my breath.

From Shakila/Hayedeh's "Present" (Soghati)

I feel that this song really defines true love. Not having been born in Iran and being told the stories of how people got married has made me realize one thing....that most of parents didn't get married for love they merely got married for money and that they feel that their children must do the same thing today. They don't feel that a girl from a higher class family can get married to a man from a family with less money. This I think is incredibly wrong, because they are not understanding that two people should marry for true love. I think money is wonderful, but money comes and money goes, but TRUE LOVE STAYS AND TRUE LOVES KEEPS 2 PEOPLE MARRIED FOREVER. I know that true love is wanting to be locked up with the other in one room forever, true love is to want to stay in a moment together forever as long as you can look at each other. True love is not caring about the gifts he brings you, or about the amount of money he spends on you or brings into a marriage, but about him being there so you can share you secrets, your life and your goals together. Real love is about feeling sick when he's not around so much that you feel like you're coming down with a fever. True love is wanting him to walk by again so you can smile. In this song Heydeh says If I can have you I can have whatever I want and I can get anywhere in life that I want to be at, without you who can I tell about what is going through my heart, she asks if her body can live without him, she tells him that he is everything for her and that without him she won't be able to live. She wants him in order to stay alive, she wants him to be able to breath that is true love!!! No money in the world could personally make me love a man. When two people are truly happy together , when a man loves his wife and treats her well G-d grants him the money to support his wife and family and that's real love!! His smile, the way he talks, the way he makes your heart skip a beat. As a community we have seemed to get away from what true love is and we marry our kids off depending on wealth that is just wrong. I think that when two people are truly in love just let them be.
